Homarus Ltd is lead by Patrick Franklin BSc, a marine biologist with 38 years international experience in the fields of aquaculture, fisheries, the marine environment and pollution. Patrick has a practical grounding in the aquaculture industry.
His consulting activities encompass aquaculture and inshore fisheries development, strategic analysis, business planning, production economics and markets. In the last 28 years he has become probably the UK’s leading specialist in the evaluation of economic losses to fisheries and aquaculture operations caused by shipping incidents, (collision and pollution), and other impacts. Patrick has much experience in managing complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams.

Martin Esseen
BSc Zoology/Marine Zoology, MSc Fisheries Biology & Management
- 17 years commercial fishing skipper/shellfish merchant
- 28 years Post MSc experience covers resource appraisal and management, research fishing, extensive survey work, environmental impact assessment,
- The oil spill and other impact assessments
Patrick White
BSc Biology
- 40 years international experience in the aquaculture industry
- Hatchery and marine cage production, technical troubleshooting, strategic and feasibility studies, particularly Mediterranean species, latterly Norway and Asia
